Lucy "Elliott" Linegar passed away on December 1, 2014 at the age of 87. Lucy was born March 7, 1927 to John and Pearl Elliott in Ava, Missouri. She accepted Christ as her savior as a teenager. Lucy was a member of the First Baptist Church. She retired from MSU.

Lucy married Huey Linegar on January 19, 1947 and they were blessed with two sons, Huey B. Linegar II and Jimmie Elliott Linegar.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Jimmie and five sisters Angelene Kellogg, Samantha Archer, Mary Bartley, Loeta Graybell and
Wanda Elliott. Lucy is survived by her husband of 67 years, Huey, her son Huey B. Linegar II, three grandchildren, five great grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.

A visitation will be Thursday, December 4, 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Klingner-Cope at Midtown, 1635 N. Benton. Funeral services will be Friday, December 5, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 525 South Street. Interment will be at Missouri Veterans Cemetery at 11:00 a.m.

Family has requested in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Lucy''s name to the American Cancer Society 3322 S. Campbell, Springfield, MO 65807 or a charity of your choice.
