Lois Ann Shepherd was born on July 28, 1941 in Afton, Oklahoma and joined her husband Lloyd in her heavenly home on December 17, 2011. Lois was a Nurse and Nursing Home Administrator in Springfield, Mo since 1973 before retiring in 1990. Lois enjoyed life and loved spending her time with her children, grandchildren, sister and her loving pets. She was an avid reader who loved to travel. Lois was a lung cancer survivor, having been diagnosed in 2008 and, at the time of her passing was very proud of the fact that she had been almost 2 years cancer free. Lois was preceded in death by Lloyd Shepherd, her husband of 43 years, her brother Jack and her parents, Walter and Wilma Emery and her beloved Pomeranian, Rudy. She will be loved, missed, and survived by her children Rick and Lisa Shepherd and Tammy and Randy Hargrave, her sisters Virginia Crosby and Patricia, her brothers Gordon Emery and James Emery, her grandchildren Michael Shepherd, Jennifer Shepherd and Heather Moyers, and her great grandchildren, Leiala, Shayla and Shawn and her beloved dog, Bella. Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Rivermonte Funeral Home, 4500 S. Lone Pine, Springfield, Missouri. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at the same location.
