He went to be with our Lord on Dec 16 2011.He graduated from Central High School in Springfield, Mo. in 1961.Andy married his wife Janice (Foster)May 12th 1962 and with this union they had three children. He was an employee of the City of Springfield Dept. of Public Works for 33 years. He made lifelong friendships with his co-workers. Andy was proud of the accomplishments, and great friendships he achieved through his years of employment. Andy was a member of the ABOU BEN ADHEM Shrine for 25 years where he be came Captain of the Marching Patrol. He considered it an honor and joy to help children in need of medical attention through the Shiners'' Children''s Hospital Foundation. Andy was a member of Atlantic Street Baptist Church, Springfield, Mo. in his early life and later became a member of Brookline First Baptist Church. He was a very devout Christian and from childhood, always knew Jesus as his personal savior. He loved to be a practical joker and enjoyed sharing a laugh. Most people would remember Andy as a giving, loving, moral, and honorable man. Andy loved to fish with his sons and lifelong friend David Dunn. Andy in his later years was great inspiration to his children and grandchildren. He helped his sons in their construction endeavors, and daughter, an author, with any advice and support. Andy placed nothing ahead of the support of his family and friends and especially his grandchildren who he held close to his heart and loved very, very dearly. Andy will be missed by anyone he touched. He was the patriarch of a large loving family. Every member of his family depended upon him to know the right thing, and to always do and carry these values on. The world is a better, brighter, loving, and moral place because of him and we as a family will carry this legacy on. Andy was preceded in death by his father Lloyd Letterman, mother Ruby Letterman, half-brother Jerry Letterman, and half-sister Barbara Fast. Andy is survived by his wonderful and loving wife Janice of 49 years to whom he honored and loved with all his heart. She was with him until the very end, when he went to his heavenly home.
