Linnia Marie Hancock, 91 of Bois D''Arc, MO passed away at home on Saturday, November 5, 2011. She was born December 29, 1919 in Republic, MO to Neal and Hershel Salkil.
Linnia was a member of the Bois D''Arc Baptist Church and taught Vacation Bible School and was a Sunday School Teacher. She was very active in PTA and served as a homeroom mother. A member of 4-H, Linnia taught sewing for years. She worked daily side by side with her husband of 58 years, Glen M. Hancock on their dairy farm. Linnia was a loving mother to her 5 children and to all who came into her home.
Linnia loved to read and was published in Capper''s Weekly. She was a great cook, loved to travel, hunt, fish, garden and paint. Linnia was a very strong willed lady and always put her faith in God.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Troy Batson; two children, Joyce Brogno and Ray Batson; brothers, Eldon, Allen, Harvey and Henry Salkil and sisters, Evelyn Jones and Mae Taylor.
Linnia is survived by her husband Glen M. Hancock; three sons, Don Batson and Caroline, Glen L. Hancock, David Hancock and Cindy; daughters-in-law, Marsha and Laurie; son-in-law, John Brogno; 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, a brother, Finis Salkil and a sister, Hester Mantle.
A visitation is scheduled for Friday, November 11, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel, 5234 W. State Highway EE, Springfield. The funeral service will be held Saturday, November 12th at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
