IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Linda Lou
Evans
November 23, 1943 – January 9, 2023
Linda Lou (Brayfield) Evans was born in Springfield, MO on November 23, 1943, to Earl and Elma (Huffman) Brayfield. She left this life on January 9, 2023, at the age of 79 years.
Linda's educational career started at York Elementary School, later attending Study for her middle school years, and finally graduating from Central High School. She had a strong sense of faith and accepted Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior as a young girl while attending Baptist Hill Bible Camp. Linda was raised in church, attending Immanuel Baptist Church, where she met and married Lloyd (Butch) Evans. She loved to tell the story of chasing Butch because she already loved his parents, and he had a nice looking car. Starting early in their marriage Linda was employed by Bell Telephone Company, but soon decided to follow her dreams of being a stay-at home wife and mother. Once both of her children were in school, Linda began working as the church secretary part-time. Later, she went to work at Nation's Bank in the vault. Linda continued to work at the bank until she needed to retire due to receiving a Parkinson's disease diagnosis approximately eighteen years ago.
Linda Lou had several favorite past-times including socializing, attending services at Golden Harvest Baptist Church, working on her photo/card albums, watching game shows, and listening to her "Gaither's" gospel music.
She will be remembered for her dedication to Christ, her church, and the love she gave to her family and friends. Linda is survived by her husband Lloyd Evans; daughter and son-in-law Robin and James Hoover; grandchildren Clarke (Evans), Honor, and London (Hoover), as well as, Jerry and Mary Sue Evans; and several nieces, nephews, and all those she has "adopted" along the way.
During her final days here on Earth, we discussed all the people who are waiting for her to meet them in Heaven, including her son Roger Evans; Elma Brayfield (mother), Earl Brayfield (father), H.L. & Ruth Evans (in-laws), and her siblings Marilyn Sue Roop, Bob, Dale and Carroll Brayfield.
The family of Linda Evans would like to thank the nurses, staff, and therapists at Sunterra Rehab and Brookhaven Rehab/Skilled Nursing Facility for giving Linda a home away from home for the past couple of months. A special thank you to Regional Hospice for giving us a shoulder to lean on as we waited for our Heavenly Father to open His arms and welcome Linda to her new home.
