Linda Margaret (Smith) Carr was born May 6, 1948 to Will and Doris Dixon in St. Louis, Missouri. Linda accepted Jesus at an early age.

In 1958 the family moved to Hartville, Missouri where Linda was a member of the Hartville Church of God in Christ.

Linda attended Hartville School and graduated in 1968 from Hartville High School.
While in High School, Linda received numerous awards.

After getting married to Everett Smith, Sr., Linda moved to Springfeld, Missouri. To this union Linda gave birth to Everett (E.J.) Smith, Jr. and Eric Smith. In later years, Linda also gave birth to her third son, Winston Grimes.

Linda worked in the nursing care field for many years. She also began working with the Missouri Division of Family Services in the foster care program. She fostered a number of children from the area and later proudly adopted five children: Jasmine, Melissa, Amanda, Kerchanda and Adam. Linda always had a great love for children.

Linda was a gracious lady with a contagious smile. Linda loved the Lord, her family and shopping; not just for herself but always for others.

Linda was a founding member of Deliverance Temple Ministries where she was affectionately known as "Mother Carr".

Linda peacefully departed this life on December 24, 2014.

Linda accepted her personal invitation from Jesus to spend Christmas with Him in Paradise.

Linda was preceded in death by her father, Will J. Dixon, Jr., one sister, Christine Lett, three brothers, Billy Dixon, Robert Dixon, Kenneth Dixon

She leaves to cherish her memories, her mother, Doris Dixon, her children, Everett (Sylvia) Smith, Eric (Rhonda) Smith, Winston Grimes, Jasmine Carr, Melissa Carr, Amanda Carr, Kerchanda Carr and Adam Carr. Godchildren: Dorien Jenkins and Zaria Johnson, Sisters: Caroll Clark, Tyra (Samuel) Knox, Wilona Cooper; Brothers: John (Arlene) Dixon, Mark (Nina) Dixon. and Special sister, Ora Maben and Best friend Michelle Johnson.

Twenty Two (22) grandchildren, five (5) great grands, Eleven (11) nephews, Eight (8) nieces, great nephews and nieces and a host of other relatives and friends.
