Leslie Howard Owrey 81 of Rrepublic passed away peacefully on April 3, 2016 at home with his family at his side.

Leslie was born on October 25th 1934 to Walter N. Owrey and Balula F. (Smith) Owrey which preceded him in death along with the stepson Donnie Matthews, two brothers Carl and John and a sister Mary Sawyer.

Leslie is survived by his wife of 33 years, Betty. A son George and wife Billie a Republic two daughters Rita Entrikin of Springfield, Leslee and husband Terry Ratliff of Fairplay, stepson William Matthews and wife Melissa Matthews of Republic, stepdaughters Barbara Luttrull and husband Rick of the State of Texas and Twila Matthews of Springfield; also Brothers Walter, Larry, and David, Sisters Laura, Betty, and Cheryl. Leslie had 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Leslie was a member of Elwood Full Gospel. He was a very loving husband, father, Papa and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him, may he rest in peace. Leslie''s family wants to thank all of the Mercy Hospice team especially Brittany and Tina.
