Leora Faye (Millam) Simmons, 85, passed away at the Cedars Extended Care facility in Tulsa, OK. She was born in Freeport, IL on July 17, 1928 to Lloyd and Jewell Millam and lived in Clinton, MO until her marriage to her late husband, Larry Simmons in Kansas City, MO. She was a long-time resident of Springfield and a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a grandson and her beloved Aunt Thelma (Cook) Luallin.
She leaves two sisters, Lucille Baker of Tulsa, OK and Dorothy DeLozier of Harrisonville, MO; three sons, Michael Simmons of Kansas City, MO, Gary Simmons of Lehigh Acres, FL and Robert Simmons of Tulsa, OK; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and the many friends she and her late husband made during their 57 year marriage.
Services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, June 5 at Ridgecrest Baptist Church, 2210 W. Republic Road and internment will follow at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at 2:00 PM, both in Springfield.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer''s Association at alz.org. Arrangements are under the care of Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home.
