Leona King Kluthe, 88 passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2014 in Springfield. She was born January 12, 1926 in Latham, Kansas to O.M. and Sophia (Winn) King. She graduated high school at the age of 16.

Leona was a "Rosie the Riveter" during WWII but she couldn''t rivet a straight line so they made her the manager. She was an expert with crystal and china and worked at Gamble''s Treasure House. At the age of 58, she attended nursing school and was awarded her LPN.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; daughter, Mia Barbara; son, Daniel Mark; her parents and six siblings.

Survivors include her children, Beverley, Kenneth Steven (Linda), Scott King (Patricia) and Kevin Karl (Deborah); 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at 1 PM on Monday, December 29, 2014 in Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte Chapel. Services will follow at 2 PM. with burial in Rivermonte Memorial Gardens.

The family is requesting memorial donations to Brentwood Christian Church or Crosslines.
