Obituary

LaVon Nadine Swearengin, 77, of Fair Grove, was born on January 18, 1939 in Ava, MO to Nina and Willie Huff. She passed away surrounded by her family at home on November 9, 2016.

She married Jerry Swearengin on July 1, 1960 and they owned Jerry Swearengin Trucking Inc together. She was a member of TOPS and was awarded the KOPS award, was a faithful member of Westport Assembly, Peace Chapel Assembly and Faith Baptist in her lifetime. She enjoyed traveling the country with her husband with their pulling truck, competing in the Southern Missouri Garden Tractor Pulling Association and Outlaw Pulling Association events.

LaVon was preceded in death by her mother, Nina Huff; father, Willie Huff; brother, Jackie Huff and sister, Helen Hawkins.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Jerry Swearengin; children, Karen Risner, Rick Swearengin and Mike Swearengin; brothers, Jerry Huff and Randy Huff; sister, June Humbyrd; 9 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson and a host of family and friends.

A visitation will be held Sunday, November 13, 2016 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Klingner-Cope at White Chapel, 5234 W. State Hwy EE (Division), Springfield. Service will be on Monday, November 14, 2016 at 10:00 am in the funeral home with burial to follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
