Laura Lou Shade Glynn of Springfield, Missouri quietly slipped into Heaven on July 10, 2022, at 95 years of age. She was born July 26, 1926 to Jackson and Conia (Yandell) Shade of Fair Grove, Missouri. She married James (Jimmy) Glynn on January 28, 1947, and they celebrated 49 years of marriage before he preceded her in death in February 1996. Also preceding her in death are her parents, brothers John Lewis and James E. Shade and an infant daughter.

She is survived by her three children Virginia Ann (William) Lee of Shiprock, New Mexico, Beverly Sue (Gaylan) Grant of Wylie, Texas, and Thomas Elliott (Lisa) Glynn of Springfield, Missouri. She is also survived by sister Annilee (James) Spellman, as well as grandchildren Marianne Lee Billy, Melcolm Lee, Jeremy Grant, Monica Grant, Kathryn Grant, Elliott Glynn and Josephine Glynn, as well as a growing number of great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Laura was a faithful member of Bethel Assembly of God (now True Life Assembly) for more than 65 years. In addition, she was a valuable employee of the General Council of Assemblies of God for more than 60 years, working in the Foreign Missions Department and continuing that work at home until she was in her eighties.

All who knew Laura well were aware of her deep love of family, friends, and especially her Jesus. Her sweet smile and cheerful disposition, so much a part of her, will be sorely missed. Our comfort is that she is now enjoying the presence of her Savior and loved ones that have gone before, and by the knowledge that we, too, will be reunited with her in Heaven.

The family would like to especially thank Good Shepherd Hospice and its fine staff for the wonderful care they gave Laura the last 2 years of her life.

The funeral will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, July 15, 2022 at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel, Springfield. The graveside Service is private.
