LaUna Charlene (Goolwen) Shine, 70, went to be with the Lord on May 15, 2012, after a long battle with kidney disease. She was born Sept. 15, 1941 in Hollywood, CA. She married Jerry E. Shine Nov. 2, 1962.
Charlene was preceded in death by her husband; parents, Joe and Katherine (Cobb) Rowe; In-laws, John H. and Dorothy Shine, grandparents, Lee and Anna May Cobb and several uncles.
She is survived by her daughter, Leanna M. Knapp; 2 sons, John R. and Joseph H. Shine; 5 grandchildren, Rusty, Joshua and Cory Knapp and Jacob and Ashli Shine.
Born an only child, she has left behind 7 brothers and sister-in-laws, Juanita Adams, Huba Wells, Dorsey Dalton, Ruth Swearengin, J.T. Shine, Donna McMullin (Marvin), Dr. James D. Shine (Carol), her long-time friend and "adopted sister" Barbara Arnall; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss her deeply.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 23 at 10 AM in Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel, 5234 W. State Hwy EE (West Division) with services following at 11 AM. Interment will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens
