Larry Lynn Jefferies, 81 of Springfield passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2012 due to injuries from an automobile accident. Larry was born April 7, 1931 in Valley County, Nebraska to Archie and Ellen Jefferies. He served his country in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. Larry married Cecile Marie DeCamp on March 19, 1958.
Larry was a Claims Adjustor for 28 years for Frisco Transportation. He then worked for C&B Transfer until he retired. However, Larry''s passion was working his farm in Ozark, Missouri. He was also very proud of being a life long blood donor for the American Red Cross. Larry also enjoyed helping friends, neighbors and family with whatever task they might need assistance with.
Preceding Larry in death were his parents, his wife of 52 years Cecile, a brother Lyle Jefferies and his oldest grandson Paul W. Anderson.
He is survived by his three daughters, Patti Jefferies, Rhonda Jackson and Jennifer Jefferies; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, a sister Leta Scroggins, a sister-in-law Marilyn DeCamp and a host of family and friends.
A funeral service will be held Friday, April 27, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. in the Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home, 1635 N. Benton, Springfield, MO with interment to follow in the Weaver Cemetery, Ozark, MO with full military honors. A visitation is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, 2012 in the funeral home.
Family has requested donation be made in honor of Larry to either the American Red Cross, 1545 N. West Bypass, Springfield, MO 65803 or the Alzheimer''s Association, Southwest Missouri Chapter, 1630 W. Elfindale, Springfield, MO 65807.
