Larry Dean Hester passed away at the age of 69. Larry resided in Blue Springs, Missouri where he passed away on April 12, 2025.

Larry was born on January 22, 1956, in Marshfield, Missouri, to his parents Neva and Richard Hester. He grew up in Springfield, Missouri with his two brothers, Randy Hester and Arlis, Hester.

He graduated from Central High School in 1973. He relocated to Independence, Missouri and began working for the telephone company. Larry worked his way up and eventually worked as an engineer for Southwestern Bell, later known as AT&T. When he retired, he continued to do the same job as a contracted employee for a few more years in Tulsa, OK.

Larry is preceded in death by his wife of forty-two years Susanne Hester and his parents, Neva & Richard Hester.  He is survived by his brothers, Randy and Arlis Hester, his son, Richard Hester, Daughter-in-law Rebecca Hester and his grandchildren Dean, RJ and Triston.

Larry enjoyed many activities in his youth including bowling, basketball, golf, karaoke and poker. When he wasn't enjoying these activities, he was usually telling outrageous and comical tales of the events that occurred during these events. Or more accurately, events that involved his many friends whom he participated in these events with. When not participating in these activities you could also find him enjoying football, especially Chiefs football. He also had a love of music and could be found listening to country music frequently. He was also a very skilled carpenter and had many projects for his friend and family.

His biggest joy was spending time with his wife and family. He loved dancing with Susanne when she would hear one of her favorite songs. He enjoyed playing games such as Scrabble and Dominos with his grandchildren. He will be missed dearly.

Graveside service will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at White Chapel Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 5234 W. State Hwy EE. Springfield, MO 65802. with Pastor Larry Ball officiating.
