Mrs. Lana J. Medlock, 83, of Springfield, Mo. passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Cox South Hospital.

Lana Jean Medlock was born on Wednesday, January 1, 1941, in Springfield, Mo. to Joseph and Helen Burgess. She attended Pipkin Elementary and graduated from Parkview High School. She went on to attend SMSU and Webster University and graduated with a master's degree in education and taught at public schools. She married John Delton Medlock on August 27, 1966. Lana enjoyed fishing and was a sports enthusiast.

She is survived by two sons, Bradley John Medlock and Jay Russel; three grandchildren, Dakota and Gabrielle Medlock and Shanna Nicole Hancock; great-grandchild, Macie; one brother, Joseph Leroy Burgess Jr, and many cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.

Lana is preceded in death by her husband, John Delton Medlock; parents, Leroy and Helen Burgess; son, John Delton Medlock Jr.; one grandchild, Hannah Mae Russel and her loving pet Edison.

A Celebration of Life will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 18, 2024, in the Klingner Cope Funeral at White Chapel: 5234 W. State Hwy EE, Springfield, Mo. 65802.
