Kipling I Potter, 73, of Strafford, MO passed away at his home on Thursday, January 13, 2022. He was born on Thursday, October 14, 1948 in Springfield MO, to Frank and Wanda Potter of Strafford.

Kip graduated from Strafford High School in 1966, and later followed in the footsteps of his father and grandfather by being a member of the Strafford School Board.  He joined the Air Force from 1968 to 1972, and was a Vietnam Veteran.  Throughout the years, Kip worked at McDonnell Douglas, Greyhound Bus Lines, Sunnyland Tours, and retired from McDowell Wrecker in 2018.  Kip and Rita owned and operated the Strafford Farm Store for five years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Dawn Potter.

Kip is survived by his wife of 50 years Rita, two children Jake (wife Rachael) and April (husband Jim), two grandchildren Nate and Abigail, one Sister Leslie Flummerfelt (husband Steve) of Strafford, MO and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at the Strafford United Methodist Church, 200 E. Chestnut St., Strafford, MO 65757. Burial will take place directly after services at the Danforth Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the Strafford United Methodist Church or the Danforth Cemetery Association.
