IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kevin Wiley
Robertson
December 7, 1957 – August 17, 2024
Kevin W. Robertson, 66 of Springfield, MO passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at his home.
Kevin Wiley Robertson was born on Saturday, December 7, 1957, in Salina KS to Richard and Grace Robertson. He was the youngest of six, with one brother and four sisters. He attended grade school in Salina where he graduated high school. His sister, Julie recalls his childhood being filled by his love of dinosaurs, insects, spending time in the library and finding his faith at the age of thirteen. Many times they would catch bugs in jars together or sing and play guitar. He loved music.
Kevin attended Central Bible College where he obtained his bachelor's degree in biblical studies and became an ordained Pastor, lead as a Youth Pastor and Head Pastor in Louisiana and Alabama. He also, spent time as a Youth Counselor. Keven later returned to school and attended the University of South Alabama where he obtained his Master of Psychology where he pursued a career as a Licensed Professional Counselor. He worked as a LPC for over twenty-seven years, spending much of his career at Burrell Behavioral Health.
Kevin has three daughters, one son, two stepdaughters and a stepson. He met his wife Kim in 1993 working with mutual patients. Kim fondly recalls that she would attend meetings once a week with him and he would bring her lunch and he would get teased by his coworkers for it. They married in 1996 three years later in Springfield, MO. Kevin and Kim had just celebrated twenty-eight years of marriage before his passing.
His children remember him as loving, kind and gentle man. He was always playing pranks and telling jokes. He loved movies, particularly thrillers and horror films. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs super fan and even in illness could recall team facts like a Chiefs encyclopedia. He also loved the outdoors, camping and fishing. He was a devout follower of Christ and a musician and could play many instruments, but most often sang and played guitar. His daughters attribute him for their love of music and Rock N' Roll.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Kim Robertson; mother, Grace Robertson; three daughters, Kristen Robertson, Chelsea Hayes and Faith Robertson; one son, Daniel Robertson; three stepchildren, Angela Rose, Emily Rose and Jeremy Rose; eight grandchildren; four sisters, Julie, Linda, Rose and Patty.
