Kenneth Lee Sikes, 72, of Springfield, Missouri, departed this life, October 12, 2017.
He was born in Mansfield, Missouri on June 30, 1945 to Lowell Dwain and Pauline Orlena Sikes. Kenneth graduated from Seymour High School in 1963. He was married to Janice Kay Owen on January 23, 1970.

Kenneth grew up on a dairy farm near Diggins, Missouri, he was one of five children. He served our country in the Army from 1966 to 1969. He retired in 2008 from Dayco Corporation after working for 38 years where he manufactured belts for cars and machinery. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, playing softball and bowling. When his children were younger he could always be found in the crowd at every game and concert they participated in. He was their biggest fan. Kenneth was baptized at Brookline Church of Christ, where he became a member and volunteered his time. He looked forward to visits from his kids and grandchildren. Kenneth enjoyed sitting on the front porch watching the world go by, visiting with lifelong neighbors and bible devotion time with his wife.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Warren Sikes and Joseph Sikes; and sister Betty Ann Sikes.

Survivors include his wife, Janice Kay Sikes of the home; children, Dewey Sikes, also of the home, and Melinda Johns and her husband James of Centerton, AR; grandchildren, James Tyler Johns and wife Melanie, Justin Lee Sikes, Xavier Ryan Sikes, Kaitlyn Margarett Johns, and Joseph Riley Johns; great grandchildren, Jackson Johns and Emilyn Johns; sister, Helen Snelson and husband Wayne of Seymour, MO; countless nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 2:00pm at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel (5234 W. State Highway EE Springfield, MO) with a burial to follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be on Monday, October 16, 2017 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the funeral home.
