Obituary

We mourn the loss of Dr. Piker, he left behind a legacy of love, service, and faith.
Born in Newport, Arkansas, on Sept 5th 1947, he led a life defined by
compassion, resilience, and dedication to his family, faith, and medical career.

Despite enduring complications from polio, which he contracted at the age of two,
Dr. Piker faced life with remarkable strength, determination, and a generous heart.
He was a loving husband to Diane Piker for 30 years, and a beloved father,
grandfather, neighbor, and friend to many.

An esteemed physician, Dr. Piker practiced medicine for 30 years, offering
exceptional care and kindness to his patients, whom he loved deeply. He was
honored early in his career with the Louisiana General Practice Award for "Most
Outstanding Future General Practitioner," a testament to his dedication to the
medical field. Dr. Piker completed his high school education before earning his
pre-med and Bachelor of Science degrees from Louisiana Tech University in
Ruston, LA. He later attended medical school at LSU in New Orleans, LA.

His faith was an anchor throughout his life. Just five days before completing his
first year of residency, Dr. Piker was ordained as an Assembly of God minister,
dedicating himself not only to healing bodies but also to uplifting spirits.

He held memberships in numerous esteemed organizations, including the
American Board of Family Practice, Greene County Medical Society, Missouri
State Medical Association, AMA, Christian Medical Foundation, American
Geriatrics Society, among others. His commitment to service extended far beyond
his profession, shaping his every interaction.

Outside his professional life, Dr. Piker was an avid stamp and pen collector,
finding joy and beauty in these unique collections that reflected his appreciation for
history and tradition.

Dr. Kenneth "Dewayne" Piker was preceded in death by his mother Christine, his
father Kenneth and son Kevin Piker. Dewayne will be deeply missed by many
family members including wife Diane Piker, sister Teri, sister Becky, daughter
Wendy Twitty and (husband) Jeff , son Shane Ryan, son Kevin Ryan,
grandchildren Chandler Piker, Amber Ryan, Hank Ryan, (Wife) Stacey and Luke
Ryan.

Dr. Piker leaves behind a legacy of kindness, courage, and unwavering faith. He
will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of
knowing him.
