Obituary

Kenneth C. Norell was born on April 24, 1914 in Breckenridge, MN to Oscar and Minnie Norell. He passed away on November 24th, 2011 at his home in Springfield, surrounded by his family. Kenneth was a proud veteran of World War II, having served in both the European and Pacific theaters of war. Shortly after his discharge from the Army, he joined the American Legion and was an active member until his passing. On June 7th, 1944, he married Harriet Reichel and to this union two children were born. In 1949, Kenneth built Bryant Springs Trout farm south of Mansfield, which he and Harriet operated for many years. Throughout his life Kenneth was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting and fishing and had served as a Federal Game Warden in the Dakota''s prior to WWII. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Helen. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Harriet of the home, a son, Gary and wife Sharon of Mansfield, MO., a daughter, Sharon, of Springfield, MO, four grandsons, Jeff Coday of Las Vegas, NV, Garrett Norell and wife Jenny of Columbia, MO., Ken Parrett of Springfield, MO., Shane Norell of Columbia, MO., and two great grandsons, Wyatt and Waylon Coday of Las Vegas, NV. The Norell family would like to extend a special thank you to the following people, James, Missy and Brittany for their love and support. The staff of Good Shepherd Hospice, especially the nurses and Daniel for taking such good care of Dad and Chaplin Bob, whose voice, always brought a smile. Funeral services with full military honors will be announced at a later date.
