IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Katie "Comanche"
Zehner
March 25, 1984 – November 17, 2019
Katie Lynne "Comanche" Zehner, 35, of Springfield, MO, died Sunday, November 17, 2019. She was born on Sunday, March 25, 1984 to Larry R. Zehner and Nelda A. Niedo.
Katie was a brave and bright soul and never content to follow. Free-spirited and full of curiosity from an early age, she insisted on writing and directing her own story. Katie was well-traveled with a love of adventure. No matter where she found herself, her heart was always with her children, whom she deeply adored.
A force to be reckoned with, intelligent and hilarious, Katie's untamable energy was the storm you were lucky to get caught in. Your house could blow away but you'd be laughing when the weather cleared, standing in the rubble with your heart full of new ideas. An intensely loyal and honest friend, she was fiercely beautiful with a wicked, yet wonderful, sense of humor that could cut through even the darkest times.
Katie will be forever missed by her parents, her two children Ramona Carlson and Hadley Mathre, three siblings Craig Zehner, Lara Odom and Jessie Warren, two nieces and one nephew Kayla Zehner, Cindi Jones and James Perkins IV, her former companions John Carlson and Cody Mathre and her wide circle of friends. She was loved by so many and was truly one of a kind.
Friends and family are invited to Nathanael Greene Park, 2400 S Scenic Ave, Springfield (back outdoor pavilion adjacent to Japanese Garden; dress for warmth) from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2019 to reminisce, grieve and support one another.
