Junior "JR" Yenicheck, 91, of Springfield went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, November 11, 2015, with family by his side.
JR was born in Greene County, MO, on July 2, 1942, to Gillie Glidewell and Frank G. Yenicheck. He married his best friend Hazel Juanita Patton on January 15, 1943. They where married 71 years until her passing in 2014. JR worked with Tuthill Corporation and M.D. Numatics from 1969-1988. He was President of the Kwianis Club from 1980-1981 and then received the Kwianian of the year award from Springfield South in 1999. In his spare time JR enjoyed RVing, woodworking, and spending time at the lake. He was a former Deacon and Elder at various Springfield Baptist Churches with the last being Seminole Baptist Temple.
JR is preceded in death by his loving wife, his son Melvin R. Yenicheck, 4 sisters, 1 brother, and his parents.
He is survived by his daughter Carolyn Thomas (Rocky) and grandson Bryan Cole (Aurelia).
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 16, 2015, from 9-10 AM at Seminole Baptist Church with funeral services to follow.
