Judy Kay (Moore) Mondy passed away on February 8, 2015 after several years of declining health. She was born in the Nevada (MO) City Hospital on June 4, 1947, the daughter of Albert L. and Nadine (Demand) Moore. On July 11, 1981 in Springfield, MO she married James E. Mondy who survives of the home.

Judy graduated valedictorian of her class at Smithton (MO) High School and then graduated from the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, MO. She loved the Missouri State Fair and prior to settling into a career traveled with a concessionaire to other state fairs. She worked for many years in the offices of Consumers Markets and McCreary Brothers. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church of Springfield.

Judy had a passion for caring and helping others. This was exhibited by her leadership role in the Transplant Before and After Support group which supports individuals who have received or are waiting to receive human organ transplants. She with her husband recruited many persons to be organ donors. As her health declined she continued to look for ways to care for others including crocheting and donating over 100 hats one year for persons in need. She loved animals and enjoyed owning rescue dogs and watching various online cameras of Schnauzer dogs and nesting owls.

Survivors in addition to her husband include a sister, Karen (Jesse) Hamilton of Sedalia, MO; a niece, Sarah and nephew, Paul of Festus, MO.

Private services will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made in lieu of flowers to Crosslines of Springfield or the Smithton Area Foundation for Education (SAFE) through Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel, 5234 W State Hwy EE, Springfield, MO 65802.
