IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Juaneta Faye
Manning
July 9, 1937 – October 19, 2021
Juaneta Faye Manning, 84, of Ozark, MO passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at her home surrounded by family. She was born on Friday, July 9, 1937 in Eunice, MO to John "Henry" and Blanche Barnes.
Juaneta was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, nana and friend who was cherished by all who knew her. At the age of nine, she moved with her family to a farm in Summersville, MO. Juaneta attended the First Baptist Church of Summersville, where her father Henry was a Deacon. She professed her faith, becoming a Christian at a young age. Juaneta was a part of the graduating class of Summersville High School in 1955 and she moved to St. Louis, MO soon after graduation. Although she enjoyed growing up on the farm, she always had big dreams of moving to the city one day. Upon moving to St. Louis, Juaneta found a job at Southwestern Bell working as a telephone operator. She maintained her position at Southwestern Bell for 15 years, before deciding to permanently stay at home to take care of her family. Soon after her move to St. Louis, a chance meeting with a handsome guy from West Virginia would change her life forever. Juaneta met Dallas James Manning and that was it. She always described their meeting as love at first sight. Dallas and Juaneta were married at her parent's home on July 22, 1961. They would remain married for 59 years, 3 months and 7 days until his passing on October 29, 2020. Juaneta and Dallas welcomed a precious baby boy, Jeffrey Gale Manning on September 18, 1965. He was and always remained the center of her universe. That year they also bought their first home in St. Charles, MO where they lived until January of 1974 when they decided to move their family to Springfield, MO to be closer to the lakes. Juaneta loved to cook and bake. She was famous for her Red Velvet Cake, peanut butter fudge and strawberry jelly. She always made enough to share with everyone. She also loved to sew, craft and decorate. She was always in the middle of a project creating something unique. Juaneta also loved music and dancing and she could always be counted on for a good time. She loved her family and was always giving anything she had to someone who needed it. She and Dallas had an open door policy at their home and that included their cabin on Table Rock Lake. They were always inviting friends and family to enjoy a weekend at the lake with them.
Juaneta was preceded in death by her parents, one son Jeffrey Gale Manning, her husband, one sister Shirley Marie and one brother Brenton Robert Barnes.
She is survived by her five siblings Charles Barnes (wife Margie), John Henry Barnes (wife Shirley), Lyle Barnes (wife Linda), Helen Summers (husband John) and Elaine Wright (husband Danny) and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family.
