Joy Fay Whitescarver, 83, of Springfield, MO passed away Monday, June 8, 2026 at her son’s home, with family by her side. She was born on Saturday, May 1, 1943 in Parsons, KS to Helen Mae McCombs and Howard Lee Elliott.

Joy was married June 3, 1962, to the love of her life, Dan Richard Whitescarver in Webb City, MO. They were inseparable for 61 years. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and flea marketing. Joy learned to play the accordion along with her sister Jean and cousin Saundra. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. Dan and her were members of the Ozark Antique Auto Club for many years.

Joy was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

She is survived by her two sons Michael Whitescarver (wife Kathryn) and Todd Whitescarver (wife Paula), four grandchildren Kristine, Aaron (Brooke), Joshua (Kayla) and Zander, three great grandchildren Onyx, Jack and Ella and his twin sister Jean Chrestensen (husband Gene).

Memorial services will be held from 6:00pm – 8:00pm on Thursday, June 18, 2026 at the Asbury United Methodist Church, 1500 S. Campbell Ave., Springfield, MO 65807. Burial will take place at the White Chapel Memorial Gardens at a later date and time. Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
