Joseph E. Harter went to his heavenly home at the age of 75 years. He was born on October 25, 1936 to Arthur and Mary Belle Harter in Billings, Missouri. He married Shirlene Thayer on February 1, 1957.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: William and Roy Harter.
Joe is survived by Shirlene of the home; his five children: Steven (Polly) Harter of Edgerton, MO., Mike Harter of Springfield, Shirley Brown of Pleasant Hope, MO., Sandra (Garyal) Black of Springfield and David Harter of Pleasant Hope; two brothers: Wayne and Jerry; two sisters: Virginia Mackey and Alice Verfurth; plus Eleven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Tuesday June 5 at Klingner-Cope Funeral Home at White Chapel from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be at 1:00 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
