Johnie peacefully passed away to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 21, 2021 he was born in Springfield, Missouri to Kenneth and Della Chandler. Springfield, MO was his home until his death. Johnie graduated in 1959 from Parkview high school. He retired from Butternut Bread Company. Johnie served in the Army National Guard where he retired with 22 years of service. He attended Walnut St., Christian Church where he served as a deacon.
He was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Della Chandler. He is survived by his wife Bonnie of 48 plus years. His sons John Stephen Chandler and wife Amber of Webb City, Keith Allen Chandler of Springfield and Ted Chandler and wife Janet of Springfield. He was called PAPA by his grandkids Isaac, Ireland, Corbin, Craig and Chrissy and a great-granddaughter Jocelyn. He had 2 brothers Bill Chandler of Springfield and James Rankin of Rogersville and 2 sisters Catherine Reedy of Battlefield and Alta Cox of Republic.
Johnie never met a stranger and would help anyone who asked. He enjoyed going to his place at the lake and going fishing and visiting with his lake friends. He most enjoyed metal detecting with his brother Bill and long time friend Jim. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Burial will be at White Chapel Memorial Gardens at a later date.
