John Thomas Shine, 81, of Pleasant Hope, MO, passed away at his home on January 10, 2017. He was born on November 23, 1935 in Douglas County, MO to Dorothy Mae Nelson and John Henry Shine.
On August 6, 1965, J.T. married Joan E. Harmon, in Springfield, MO and together raised seven children. They enjoyed 36 years of marriage until her passing on February 2, 2002. J.T. retired after 46 years from E.A. Martin Machinery Company. He was also a member of the Abou Ben Adhem Shrine, the Scottish Rite Masonic Lodge and the Palmer Heights Missionary Baptist Church.
J.T. is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two sons James L. Chism and Royal W. Chism, two grandsons Jarrod B. Williams and James "Chris" Chism and one brother Jerry E. Shine.
He is survived by his five children Pamela G. Williams (husband Harold) of Strafford, MO, Kevin L. Shine of Lake Ozark, MO, Michael W. Gahagan of Ruston, LA, Marina K. Quinn (husband Stephen) of Springfield, MO and Zyma D. McCabe of St. Pete Beach, FL, one brother and five sisters, eleven grand children, 11 great-grand children, one great-great-grandson and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family.
A Visitation will be held from 9-10 am on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at the Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte, 4500 S. Lone Pine Ave., Springfield, MO 65804, with services to follow at 10 am. Burial
