John Franklin Glenn, Sr., 87, of Springfield, MO passed away at his home on Thursday, September 6, 2018 with his family gathered by his side. He was born on Saturday, February 21, 1931 in Springfield, MO to Flossie Taylor and Clarence Glenn.

John married Georgina Elizabeth Davidson on August 1, 1953 and to this union three children were born. They enjoyed 60 years of marriage until she passed on December 26, 2013. He served his country for 22 years in Air Rescue before retiring from the U.S. Air Force. John was an avid Carpenter, Coin Collector and Mall Walker. He loved spending time with his family and his church friends at Boulevard Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents and two sisters Hazel and Betty.

John is survived by his three children Mary Gilmore of Springfield, MO, Patricia Stark (husband Steven) of San Antonio, TX and John Glenn, Jr. (wife Roxanna) of Rogersville MO, three brothers Bill, Gene and Jimmy, one sister Lee, 6 grandchildren Amanda, Christina, Renee, Valerie, Dustin and Johnathon, 11 great-grandchildren and many friends and family.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 from 6-8pm at the Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte, 4500 S. Lone Pine Ave., Springfield, MO 65804. Funeral services will take place at 10am on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at the Boulevard Baptist Church, 1030 S. Eastgate Ave., Springfield, MO 65809. Military honors will be conducted at 2 pm at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Boulevard Baptist Church or the Children's Miracle Network.
