John Gilbert Davison, Sr., 81, of Springfield, MO passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2013. He was born in Laurel, Indiana on June 12, 1932 to John Lowell and Ida Catherine Davison.

John was married to Ramona Newton of Rector, AR on June 21, 1957. He became a Christian at an early age and was a member of Sunset Church of Christ. John served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean and Vietnam Wars and honorably discharged from the Navy in 1954. John and Ramona served as volunteer houseparents at Childplace in Jeffersonville, Indiana for 5 years prior to moving to Missouri in 1976. John was a dairy farmer for 10 years and worked for Springfield Brake Co. for 20 years before retiring.

He was preceded in death by his parents; maternal and paternal grandparents.

John is survived by his wife Ramona; son John G. Davison II and his wife Christine; daughter Julia Lynn Davison; grandchildren John G. Davison III and his wife Alex; Joshua G. Davison and his wife Whitney; Jillian Grace and Skylar Davison all of Kansas City, MO and Virginia Lynn Davison of Springfield, MO and one sister Donna Powell and husband Eugene of New Castle, IN; many nieces, nephews, cousins and host of friends.

Visitation will be held from 11 - 12 on Monday, July 1, 2013 at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte Chapel 4500 S. Lone Pine Ave Springfield, MO with services to follow at 12:00 p.m. and full military honors and burial in Missouri Veterans Cemetery at 2 p.m.
