John Henry Copeland, age 89, of Springfield passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2022 in his home. He was born July 8, 1933 in Udall which is in Ozark County. He was raised by his aunt, Delpia Young.

John graduated from Ash Grove High School in 1953. John joined the Marines right after high school. John served in the Korean War in the motor pool.

John worked in quality control industry for metals most of his life, John worked in the oil refinery industry for many years. When he retired he went to work for Paul Mueller in Springfield inspecting tanks.

John Married Ada Looney-Rice September 3, 1987 and has resided in Springfield since that time.

John and Ada invested in rental properties. They purchased homes, remodeled them and used them as rentals,

John is preceded in death by his aunt Delphia Young.

John is survived by his wife, Ada, of 35 years; step siblings Tim Rice, Dennis Rice, Terry Rice, Tammy Rice-Rudolph and Jerry White; 20 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 9:30 AM to 10:30AM Thursday, October 6, 2022 at Klingner-Cope Funeral Home at Rivermonte, Springfield. A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield
