IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joan Aileen
Schultz
January 3, 1934 – January 5, 2022
Joan Aileen (Streight) Schultz was the New Year's baby born in Boonville, Missouri, on January 3, 1934 to Lloyd and Gladys Streight.
She met the love of her life, William Theodore Schultz, when they were 14 years old. He went to Ava, MO with a buddy of his to go fishing and once he saw her, that was the end of his fishing trip. They were married on January 1 st, 1955. From their love daughters Thela (Patrick) Fitzgerald and Lynn Schultz were born.
Along with her daughters, she is survived by six grandchildren -Natalie Fitzgerald (Richard) Schluessler, Holly Fitzgerald, Jack Cook III, Jerusha Cook (Chris) Warholic, Jacob and Nathaniel Cook. Ten great-grandchildren – Matthew Wilson (Schluessler) Malia Warholic, Haydon Schluessler, Jack Cook IV, Jayla and Georgia Wilson, Leah Cook, Annabel O'Neill Cook, Haylee Schluessler and Bodhi Warholic.
She is also survived by three sisters Leah Haskins, Lila Stafford, LaVon Bell; and three brothers, Carl (Lavella) Streight, Gary (Janie) Streight and Rodney (Judy) Streight; sister-in-law Carol Salts, brother-in-law Robert Schultz, countless nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her parents Lloyd and Gladys Streight; a brother Norbert Streight, brother-in-laws Howard Haskins, Jim Stafford, Hassell Bell and countless other family members and friends.
Mother had many nicknames from Quail, Leen, Aldingy and several others but her most famous was The Pie Lady. A few years after daddy passed away, she was sitting on her couch and asked the Lord "what am I going to do now?" and God said, "You can bake can't you?". She said she jumped up off the couch and started baking her famous pies and chocolate cake. We believe she baked over 6000 pies and cakes until she retired from baking a year or so ago. She was also known for the over 800 baby quilts and pillows.
She leaves behind a legacy of family, love and most of all her love for Jesus. She became a Christian at the age of nine at Silver Shade Camp Meeting and taught us how to love Jesus. She set the perfect example of how to be a Christian wife and mother. She never knew a stranger and ministered to countless children and adults in a multitude of ways. If someone needed prayer we called mother. We joked she had an emergency red phone line directly to heaven.
Mother will be greatly missed and her legacy lives on through all who knew her.
