Joan C. Scalan, 74, of Kimberling City, MO, passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2012. She was born August 3, 1938 in Cleveland, Ohio to Albert and Gladys (Boam) Cappelli..
On August 26, 1961 she married Charlie Scalan in Akron Ohio who she has spent the last 51 great years of her life. She had a great love for antique shopping, traveling, boating and the water. She belonged to "Rainbow Girls" and was a girl scout leader. Above all she loved spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her father, Albert Cappelli and grandparents Clara and Jack Cowans.
Joan is survived by her loving husband, Charlie; daughters, Michelle and husband Jerry Rifenburg of Galena, Missouri, Susan and husband Jeff Swartwood of Sanborn, New York, Lori Glazebrook of LaVista, Nebraska; mother, Gladys Cappelli of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; cousin, Barbara and husband Ed Bivens of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio and a host of family and friends.
Memorial service will be held Sunday, September 2, 2012 at 2:30 PM at Faith Baptist Church in Spokane, MO.
