It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jim Herron Sr. He departed from this world on Tuesday, January 9th , 2024, leaving behind a void that can never be filled. His loss is felt deeply by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Jim Herron Sr., of Springfield, MO, was born on Thursday, February 20, 1936 and was a remarkable man who touched the lives of many through his compassion, kindness, and unwavering love. Family meant the world to him, and he cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. His unconditional love and support were the pillars that held us all together. He will forever be remembered for his quiet nature but tremendous strength. Jim retired from Sweetheart Cups in 2001 and then became a full-time Pa Pa to grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his wife Gracie, his parents Harry Herron and Edith Smith, one brother Bobby Herron and one sister Ann Herron.

Jim is survived by his six children Cathy Jarrett, Sheila Herron, Linda Herron, Janice Herron, Jimmy Herron Jr, and Mekalah Herron all from Springfield; two grandchildren Melissa Herron-Hodge and Marvin Herron, five great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and many nephews, nieces, friends and family.

A visitation will be held from 1-2 PM on Friday, January 19, 2024 at the Klinger-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel, 5234 W. State Hwy EE (Division), Springfield, MO 65802 with funeral services officiated by Reverend Les C. Brown to follow at 2 PM. Memorial donations can be made in his name to Integrity Hospice, 2131 E.
