Obituary

Jimmie Dean Kendrick, 90 of Republic, Missouri, went to his Heavenly Home on Wednesday, November 29, 2023.

Jimmie was born in Portales, New Mexico to William Glea and Mabel (Sims) Kendrick. He was the 6th child of ten who lived in a two room, dirt floored house in Black Water Draw.  They moved to Missouri when he was about thirteen, working along the way by picking peaches or whatever they could find.  It took them three months to get here.  He was baptized in 1948. In 1956, he married Rosalie Holden and to this union five children were born.  He was in the U.S. Naval Construction Battalion, or SeaBees, which he was very proud of.

Through the years he milked cows, drove semis, built houses and lastly managed a 3000 acre farm which he retired from when Rosalie passed.  He became a pastor of Zion Primitive Baptist Church in 1991 and was excellent at performing marriages and funerals. In 1996, he married Joyce Wormington Newton, who also preceded him in death.  Jimmie also played music a lot for nursing homes until 2020.  He was quite a character and will be missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers, Glen, Marvin, Johnny, Billie, Vernon, Bobby and Jackie;  two  sisters, Jeanetta and Velbra; Both of his wives, Rosalie and Joyce and one grandson, Will.

He is survived by his children, Mike and wife, Jana of Republic, Richard of Dallas, TX, Patti and husband, Carl Quisenberry of Buffalo, Tim of Elwood, Matt and wife, Katie of Ozark. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Troy, Kenny, Twyla, Marvin, Jay and Melissa; grandchildren, Kurt, Kolby, Amy, Sean, Kristina, Ben, Elise, Erin, Lacy, April, Sunnie, Kolt, Keena, Maddie, Holden, Hayden, Miley, Brody, Madison, Reagan, Jackson and twelve great-grandchildren.
