IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jimmie Charles
Hunter
February 12, 1951 – January 9, 2021
Jimmie Charles Hunter, age 69 of Nixa, Missouri, passed away January 9, 2021 at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, surrounded by his closest family. He was born February 12, 1951 in Branson, Missouri. He grew up in Protem, Missouri, later moving to Springfield and then settling in the country outside of Nixa. Jim worked for General Electric for over 30 years and was proud of the work he did there.
Jim was a hard worker who always had a project going. He was proud of building his own home with his brother and friends, which later became his sanctuary, where he enjoyed the peacefulness of nature and the beauty of the outdoors. He loved spending time with his daughters and grandson, fishing at the trout farm, visiting the tiger sanctuary or going to the nature center. When he was younger, he had a passion for racing dirt bikes and had a life-long passion for cars. He never had fewer than 3 vehicles, which included a motorcycle and a classic car for most of his life. If there's any question how important these were to him, just visit his house. His garage housed his wood-burning stove, was perfectly organized and nearly spotless. At one point, when Mandi was living with him, he even made it into his bedroom!
He is survived by a daughter, Mandi Hunter, and her significant other, Aaron Martin, of Springfield; a daughter and her husband, Courtney and Tyler German of Kansas City, Missouri; a grandson, Anson German, of Kansas City, Missouri; and a brother, Dwayne Hunter of Protem, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ollie and Betty Hunter, and a brother, Clarence Hunter.
A celebration of life will be held for Jim at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Missouri Department of Conservation or the National Tiger Sanctuary in Spokane, Missouri.
