IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jim
Mashburn
February 11, 1940 – May 8, 2021
James Irving Mashburn of Nixa, MO passed away peacefully with family by his side on May 8th, 2021. He was 81 years old.
Jim was born in Springfield, MO, February 11, 1940, to Roy Eugene and Verna (Hutchens) Mashburn and had an immediate life-long friend in his older brother Clark. At the time of his passing, he had been married to his wife, Pat, for nearly 57 years. Jim was a dedicated follower of Jesus Christ, placing his faith in God and strong Christian values at the forefront of all his many callings in life.
He attended Parkview High School and the University of Tulsa, and was a proud veteran having served in the U.S. Air Force. He made a career out of selling railroad equipment across the country, and his knack for maintaining lasting, meaningful relationships with people was evident all his days.
Jim was a passionate family man who loved the great outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and hiking in the Rocky Mountains, playing golf, and had a deep appreciation for art and music. He always looked for opportunities to serve those he loved, and his presence was a staple in the lives of his children and many grandchildren. Jim beamed with pride and joy at the very mention of his two daughters, whom he cherished and loved immensely. He also enjoyed catching up with friends regularly over coffee and lunch, and he continued to invest in his close personal relationships well into the last season of his life.
Most of all, Jim will be remembered for his steady and genuine demeanor and the way he never spoke or acted without carefully considering the message he wanted to portray. He showed a level of reverence, kindness and respect for those he loved that was unwavering and convicting to all who felt it. He always gave more than he received, placed others before himself and never took the many blessings bestowed upon his life for granted.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, mother and one brother Clark Davis.
He is survived by his wife, Perticha (Jones), daughter Kala (Scott) Frazier, daughter Kyndal (Shawn) Frazier, 8 grandchildren, Brook, Jordan, Olivia, Trinity, Chloe, Landon, Sam, and Nolan Frazier, 2 great-grandchildren, Sadie and Sutton Frazier, and lifelong friend, Roger Cooper.
Private family services will be conducted at a later date and time. Following cremation, burial will take place at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, MO. Memorial donations may be made in his name to St. Jude's or Shriners Children's Hospital. Online condolences may be made at www.klingnerfuneralhome.com
2 Timothy 4:7-8
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day- and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for His appearing.
