IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jim
Lucht
February 23, 1951 – December 15, 2021
James Harlan Lucht, 70 of Strafford, MO departed his life peacefully December 15, 2021 at Cox South Hospital. He was loved dearly by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
James Lucht was born to Harlan and Mary Lucht on February 23, 1951 in Columbus, NE. He was a man who loved to joke around and be funny, to protect, to be brutally honest, hard-working, and was very reliable. Jim was a very respected and big-hearted man. He did so much for others and asked so little in return. He would give you the shirt off his back, if he was wearing one. He was a brilliant man and the rock of our family. He enjoyed telling stories of his trucking days and could tell you fishing stories for hours. In general Jim was a talker and loved talking to the ones he loved for as long as they would let him.
Jim attended Burke High School in Omaha, NE. During high school he worked at the local Ford Dealership where he bought his first car a baby blue GTO. He was a lover of fast cars. A few years later he moved to Schuyler, NE to his family's pig farm. Jim then took on local trucking jobs. He then later moved to Salem, MO with his family to help operate the pig farm before moving to California onto his next adventures. There he worked for Nalco Chemical as a truck driver working in the oil fields. But at night he was the local line dance teacher and DJ. Jim moved back to Missouri to continue his trucking career as an owner operator. He later retired on the family farm where he cared for his parents.
Jim absolutely loved hunting and fishing. He loved taking fishing trips to the lake, even calling his boys Sean and Nate at 5 AM to make sure they were up and ready to go. When visiting Jim, you would find him in his shop fiddling and working on his next project. He loved remodeling. He also, always made sure you never left the farm hungry he loved to cook and try new recipes. Jim was the life of the party and a great prankster.
Jim's greatest accomplishment was his family. You would find him playing with his grandkids and planning their next adventures together. He loved them all unconditionally. He always reminded you how important family really is.
Jim is survived by his mother Mary Lucht, his four children Brian Lucht (Tiny), Jessica Brantner (Sean), Allison Bohannon, and Josh Pipkins, his eight grandchildren Olivia Holmes, Schuyler Lucht, London Lucht, Emmalea Brantner, Callie Brantner, Michael Brantner, Bria Bohannon, and Kaulana Bohannon, his two great-grandchildren Amyah and Halaina, his five siblings Derald Lucht, Sandi Gregory (Don), Cheryl Wilch (Dennis), Tim Lucht (Ginger), and Shelli Brabec (Wayne). Many dear friends and loved ones including "His Boys" Sean and Nate Brantner, Leanne Brantner, Amy Brantner, Chuck Todd, Mikie Ward, Charlie Bostick, and a number of nieces, nephews, and friends. Jim loved and was loved by many people.
He is proceeded in death by his father Harlan Lucht, brother Dwayne Lucht, his best friend Big Mark, and many more family members and friends.
