IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jerry Michael
Hill
February 17, 1949 – May 10, 2024
Jerry Michael Hill of Willard, MO. was 75 years old at the time of his death on Friday, May 10, 2024 in the Willard Care Center.
Jerry was born on Thursday, February 17, 1949, in Springfield, MO. to Jim and Bernice Hill.
At this point I have to say all of Jerry's family and friends knew that he was unique and one of a kind. Since I am his overbearing older sister, I am doing this last thing writing his obituary about him. My two younger brothers were thorns in my side as a teenager. My older brother and sister had gone from home, so I was in charge, and I let them know it. We all survived the experience though. Jerry did not go past the 8th grade, but he had an immense knowledge about nature and animals. He could probably tell you anything you wanted to know about snakes.
He loved hunting and fishing. He also liked hunting for arrowheads. Anything to do with nature, he was for it. Jerry was very adept at making things including knives and arrowheads.
Jerry was married six times. His first wife Cathy is the mother of his son Jeff. Jerry believed in and loved God because he would rather be in the woods or on the river the anywhere else.
In the last month of his life, I have prayed to God to bless Jerry and not to let him suffer to long. I feel my prayers, and everyone's were answered and Jerry passed away peacefully. Before I could get to the care center, he was gone. I sat there by the side of his bed, holding his hand and lay my head on him, cried and told him goodbye and I thanked God for "taking care of Jerry." My tears were not for Jerry but for myself and everyone who loved him. Please keep us all in your hearts and prayers.
Jerry is survived by his son, Jeff Hill and two grandchildren, Chance and Whitney Hill; brother and sister in-law, Jim and Barbara Hill of Buffalo, Mo; sister, Emma Myers and husband, Jim of Willard, MO; brother in-law, Brad Beneke of Iowa and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Tony Joe Hill; two sisters, Annetta Sheppard and husband, Jim and sister, Andrea Beneke.
