Jerome David Chainey, age 87 years old, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Mercy Hospital surrounded by loved ones.

Born on March 8, 1938, to Joseph Andrew Chainey and Chestine B. Chainey. His siblings were Rebekah Jane Smith, Philip Lee Chainey Sr, and Joseph Andrew Chainey Jr.

Jerome was a fisherman, survivalist and loved camping and living off the grid. He read his Bible often and was devout in his religious beliefs. During his life, he always tried to walk the right path. He was there for people when they needed him and had the quality of being a very dependable person. He was loved by those who knew him.

A graveside service honoring the life of Jerome David Chainey will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, July 18, 2025 Rivermonte Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 4500 S. Lone Pine Ave, Springfield MO 65804
