Obituary

Jennifer Lynn Mings passed away on Friday, August 8, 2014 in Springfield, MO at the age of 29. She lived her life with a twinkle in her eye and a glowing smile that would light up any room she entered. Jennifer was an avid reader who had an extensive book collection. She also enjoyed swimming, jigsaw puzzles, and her two cats, Ace and Alice. She was an extremely loyal and trustworthy friend who had a tremendous love for children. She was part of the First & Calvary children''s ministry staff for eight years. Many parents even looked to Jennifer to care for their children outside of church. Jennifer was a recipient of the Girl Scout Gold Award and the Greenwood Payne Stewart Community Service Award. From a very early age it was quite apparent that Jennifer had compassion and love for others well beyond her years.

Jennifer attended Greenwood Laboratory School from Kindergarten through twelfth grade, graduating in 2004. She continued her education at Drury University and Missouri State University. While attending Drury University, she joined the Pi Beta Phi Sorority. Her love and dedication to children led her to working on a degree in Child Psychology.

Jennifer is survived by her mother, Brenda L. Mings, her father, Michael L.
Mings, her sister, Christen Leigh Mings, 25, her Paternal Grandmother, Dixie L.
Mings, and her Maternal Grandfather, Phillip W. Preston and Grandma Susie. She was met in Heaven by her Paternal Grandfather Jack L. Mings and Maternal
Grandmother Karolyn Kay Preston.
