James Ralph Woodward, Jr., 80, of Springfield passed away unexpected on December 16, 2011. He was born September 2, 1931 in Denver, Colorado to James and Bernadine Woodward.
Jim taught German at Missouri State University from 1956 to 1996. He served in the Army in Germany from 1953 to 1955.
Jim loved traveling, International food, the St. Louis Cardinals and MSU Bears Basketball.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his daughters, Kathi Woodward and her husband Jimmie Barber, Debbie and Amy Woodward; a special canine friend, Lily; grandchildren, Alice and Sam Barber; brothers, Chuck and Jerry Woodward and a host of family and friends.
He will be loved and missed by all. Family has requested memorial donations be made in Jim''s name to the Southwest Missouri Humane Society, 3161 W. Norton Road, Springfield, MO 65803.
