James Joseph Walker, 89, of Crosby, TX passed away on September 6, 2021. He was born in Chadwick, MO on June 27, 1932 to Mary Delena (Hensley) and Walter Joseph Walker.
James served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. When he returned home, he went to typewriter repair school and then married the love of his life, Carolina Moon on November 12, 1955. To this union, two daughters were born Debra and Donna. They were longtime residents of Moberly, MO where they owned and operated General Office Equipment and Modernistic Hair Salon for over 30 years. In January 1999, James retired and later moved to Texas in 2004. He loved fishing, nature, squirrels and bird calling. He also enjoyed going to casinos, playing blackjack, tinkering around and could fix anything. James' favorite pastime though was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters Josie (his twin), Myrtle Walker and Hester Smith and four brothers Floyd, Lloyd, Glen, and Lens Walker.
James is survived by his wife Carolina, two daughters Debra Flood (husband Jerry) and Donna Bear (husband Jeff), one brother Archie Walker (wife Betty), sister-in-law Martha Walker, four grandchildren Amy Ott (husband Damon), Matt Flood (wife Alysha), Jeremy Bohm (wife Becky) and Tiffany Turner (husband Ethan) seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family.
A visitation will be held from 1-2 PM on Friday, September 17, 2021 at the Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte, 4500 S. Lone Pine Ave., Springfield, MO 65804 with funeral services to follow at 2 PM. The family has requested that masks be worn. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Wounded Warriors. Online condolences may be made at www.klingnerfuneralhome.com
