James Preston Thomure AKA J.T., age 69, left this world November 23, 2022 to be with the Lord. He was born November 20, 1953 in Springfield to Benjamin Emil and Gertrude Elizabeth (Davis) Thomure.

James grew up in Springfield and graduated from Central High School. He was a member of St. Agnes Parrish. For many years James worked for the City of Springfield Public Works Department as one their finest backhoe operators. On weekends James enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle with cousins and friends until he was derailed by a motorcycle accident. He was generous to a fault always giving to friends and charities.

James is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his daughter Christina Woodruff; Her children Tilar and Emiliegh; sisters Bobbie Spradlin (Robert) and their children Michael Spradlin (Lorrie), Kelly Ellis (William), Jan Taylor (Buford) with their child Angela Frazier (Michael) along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 Am to 12:00 PM Friday, December 2, 2020 at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel, Springfield. A graveside service will follow at 12:00 PM at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Springfield.
