James K. Broyles, Jr. (PAPE), 84, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at 12:30 p.m. in Mercy Hospital, after a long fight with COPD. James was born August 10, 1929 in Hartville to James K., Sr. and Ethel A. Broyles. He went to school at Hartville and moved to Springfield with his parents in his late teens and lived the rest of his life in Springfield, MO.
James worked as an electrician for 50 years and later retired at age 71 from Southern Sun Electrical Company. He was known by most of his fellow workers and friends as PAPE. James loved to fish and metal detect.
He was preceded in death by his wife Erma of 34 years. Survivors include his three sons, Jimmie L. Broyles, Herbert P. Broyles and his wife, Denise, Carson W. Broyles; daughters Pat Morris and Linda Young and her husband, Monroe, 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, brother, Paul and his wife Phillis Broyles of Sun City, Florida.
A visitation will be held Monday, August 11, 2014 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel, 5234 W State Hwy EE (Division), Springfield, MO. A graveside service will be
on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in the White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
