James M. Wilson Jr. M/Sgt USAF 89, passed on to be with his savior on Monday, December 17, 2018. He was born March 2, 1929 to Jim and Martha Wilson in Buffalo, MO.
Jim attended county school and Buffalo High and graduated in 1947. He was united in marriage to Beverly Boast in 1953 in Miami Florida. Jim was a retired M/SGT in the USAF and served for over 20 years. Jim served in Korea and During the Vietnam era. Other assignments included Canada, Spain, Germany and many states.
After his military service he moved to Springfield in January 1971 where he worked for St. John's Heath Center for over 17 years. Jim loved his Lord and savior and was saved in 1946 in a country revival but as most Christians he has grown in the knowledge of his Lord and convictions. He was a member of Second Baptist Church for 47 years and was very active in all aspects of church works, always volunteering and earlier on many mission trips. He loved God's creation of outdoors, animals, hunting, fishing and was a great lover of horses. Jim never met a stranger. His Lord and family was his life.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly of 65 years; 3 children, Jim and wife Sharon, Marty and husband Lee and Kelly and wife Angie; 8 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 3 siblings; many nieces, nephews and countless friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, December 21, 2018 from 10-11am at Second Baptist Church (3111 Battlefield Rd Springfield, MO) with a service to follow at 11:00am. His burial will follow in Rivermonte Memorial with full military honors with honor guard from Whiteman AFB.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Missions at Second Baptist Church.
