Obituary

James Dale "Big Jim Steele" Davison, 56, of Pleasant Hope, MO passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2019 after a 14 month battle with lung
cancer. He was born in Springfield, MO on Sunday, September 1, 1963 to James M. and Barbara J. (Miller) Davison.

Jim graduated from Willard High School in 1981 and attended Automotive Technical School in Wichita, KS. He returned to Springfield and worked
for many years as an auto and diesel mechanic. Jim worked with his parents in the family barrel business and spent several years self employed.  His final employment was as a Trailer Mechanic with IWX in Springfield. Jim was a member of the Single Action Shooting Society for nearly 30 years and a founding member of three local Cowboy Action Shooting clubs, most
recently The Butterfield Trail Cowboys of Branson, MO. A lifelong hunter and shooter, Jim was always willing to join you at the range. He was a long time member of New Vision Ministries. Jim was always willing to lend a hand, or a truck and trailer, for family and friends, or friends of family, or family of friends. Jim had a love for classic cars, old guns, history and an impressive knowledge of all three. He also loved to spend time with family and friends.
