Obituary

James Orville Dillon, 92, of Springfield, MO passed away at his home on Friday, March 12, 2021. He was born on Monday, February 11, 1929 in Monett, MO to Opal Shaddox and Robert Lloyd Dillon.

James and Mildred Marlene Young were united in marriage in 1950 and to this union four children were born. He was a charter member of the South Side Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with friends and family. James was a truck driver and loved anything to do with lakes, especially fishing.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, two sons Denny and Lee Dillon, one grandson Kenny Dillon, one great-granddaughter MacKenna Milhon, one brother Richard Lee Dillon and one sister Virginia Logan.

James is survived by his two children Robert Dillon (wife Debra) and Dennise Potter (husband Ronald) of Springfield, MO, two daughter-in-laws Joan and Jean Dillon, nine grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family.

A visitation will be held from 1-2 PM on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at the Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel, 5234 W. State Hwy EE, Springfield, MO 65802 with funeral services to follow at 2 PM. Burial will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Online condolences may be made at www.klingnerfuneralhome.com
