James Milton Davison, 78, passed away on Sunday, September 22nd, 2019 at his home in Lawrenceburg, Missouri. He was born on Wednesday, December 11th, 1940 in Bolivar, Missouri to John Milton Davison and Lula Mae Frieze.
Jim graduated from Morrisville High School, Class of 1959. He worked at Calvert's Garment Factory and married Barbara Jean Miller March 3rd, 1961. To this union two sons were born, James Dale Davison and Jeffery Dean Davison. After working at Calvert's he worked at ChemTech Chemicals and attended Drury College. He retired as operations supervisor after 20 years.
Following retirement in 1989, he opened his own business, Empty Container Service, and became known as "The Barrel Man". He operated this business until his death. Jim was an avid reader and enjoyed playing his guitar at music parties with family and friends. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time at family gatherings and telling stories.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law Ralph Miller, one brother Robert Davison, two sisters-in-law Ruby and Francis and three brothers-in-law Larry Miller, Eugene Miller, and Ron Thomas, two nieces Rebecca McDonald and Rejeanna Davison and one son James Dale Davison.
He is survived by his wife Barbara, son Jeff, daughter-in-law Penelope, mother-in-law Dorothy Miller, three brothers Rich, Bill, and Mike, three sisters-in-law, four grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 2-4 PM on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at the Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel, 5234 W. State Hwy EE, Springfield, MO 65802. Funeral Services will conducted by Pastor Gary Thomas at 10 AM on Monday, September, 30, 2019 at New Vision Ministries, 1440 N. State Hwy AB, Springfield, MO 65802. Immediately following services, burial will take place at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Online condolences may be made at www.klingnerfuneralhome.com
