James Richard Cook, 39, passed from this life on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 after an extended illness. Fondly known by his family as Little Ricky, he was born on Friday, January 14, 1983 in Springfield, MO to Ricky Lynn and Leticia Delois (Tina) Cook.

Ricky graduated from Hillcrest High School in 2001 and attended Ozark Technical Community College. He loved working on cars, hunting and fishing. Ricky was compassionate, selfless and had a smile that could light up your world.

He was preceded in death by two aunts Cheryl Scherff and Glenda Crain and his paternal and maternal grandparents.

Left to mourn Ricky's passing are his two sons Jacob Leon Cook Ash and Garrett Levi Cook Ash, father Rick Cook (wife Nancy), mother Tina Malloy (husband Greg), two brothers William David "Bebo" Trotter and Christopher Boyd Cook one sister Vivian Rin Sallee, one nephew Gage Mathew Trotter and numerous cousins, friends and family.

A visitation will take place from 9-10 AM on Friday May 27, 2022 at the Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte, 4500 S. Lone Pine Ave., Springfield, MO 65804 with funeral services to follow at 10 AM. Friends are welcome to proceed to the burial site at Eastlawn Cemetery, 2244 E. Pythian St., Springfield, MO 65802 after the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in remembrance of Ricky to the charity of your choice.
